Meeting Minutes from the January 14th, 2006 Board Meeting

 

Cascade Warbirds Squadron #2

14 January 2006, Museum of Flight, Seattle

The meeting was called to order at 1310 hours by CO Desmon.

Directors in attendance: Desmon, High, Rombauer, Jackson, Renquist, Carter, Owens, Smyth, Kinchen, Anders, Caruso, and Barry.

Directors absent: Sherman, Williams, Almstead

1 - Fred mentioned the EAA requirement to annually designate anew Squadron Honorary members. M/S to do so. Passed unanimously.

2 - Discussion on the printed and mailed quarterly newsletter. There was praise for its quality and for its value as a recruiting tool. M/S to continue with the printed edition of the newsletter. Passed unanimously.

3 - The 2005 Christmas Dinner Party results were discussed; all present seemed happy with the experience at BW River's Edge. M/S to hold the 2006 Christmas Dinner Party at BW River's Edge on Saturday, 02 December 2006. Passed unanimously.

4 - AWO Co-chair Pete gave a report on recent developments IRT the NWEAA. There has been no indication from them of any change regarding the Squadron's participation for 2006. Pete will check back one more time.

5 - The Kelso Fly-In, a very enjoyable venue for the Squadron last season, has invited us to return this season. The organizer has asked us to pick an August date. With the information at hand, M/S to request the Kelso organizer to select the w/e of 4 - 6 August. Motion passed.

6 - Fred presented the 2005 financial statements. Questions posed, answers provided. M/S to accept the financials into the record. Motion passed.

7 - The 2006 budget was presented. Questions and discussion followed. M/S to approve the 2006 budget as amended by consensus; copy attached. Motion passed.

8 - Discussion followed regarding the Squadron policy for performing memorial fly-overs and accepting subsequent donations. The policy was established by the board on 14 February 2004. Any individual requesting a fly-over will contact CO Desmon; in his absence, XO Kinchen; in his absence, FO Smyth.

9 - An early Spring date will be set for training (and burger burn) at Heritage Flight Museum.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at approximately 1500 hours.
