Cascade Warbirds Squadron # 2

Minutes of the Meeting of the Membership – 13 November, 2010, Museum of Flight

The CO called the meeting to order at 10:10 AM. There were 36 members and guests in attendance.

The following occurred:

• New members and guests were introduced.

• Veterans were acknowledged and thanked for their service.

• The FO reminded all of the upcoming dinner party on 11 December and also said it was okay to begin paying 2011 dues.

• Ed’s Safety Minute concerned the relationship of tire pressure and standing water on runways. He cautioned all to be careful of possible hydroplaning with the wet season upon us.

• Special guest speaker #1 Col John Misterly (USAF-Ret) regaled us with several stories from his 35-year career flying in WWII, the Berlin Airlift, Korea, and Vietnam. It was impossible for him to compress his exploits into the 35 minutes allotted. He was invited to return another time and he also autographed copies of his books afterwards.

• Special guest speaker #2 Dale Thompson explained the design and function of the B-29 Fire control System. His talk was very well received.

• Greg mentioned the upcoming schedule: (1) our dinner party next month, and (2) that the 11 January meeting was our annual meeting; he solicited agenda items from anyone so inclined. He also mentioned that our speaker will be Peter Stekel.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 12:00 Noon.
