Cascade Warbirds Squadron # 2, Minutes of the Meeting of the Membership
13 October 2012, Museum of Flight, Seattle
The XO called the meeting to order at 10:15 AM. Thirty-six were present.
The following occurred:
the XO welcomed new members and guests
the FO pitched the Christmas dinner party on 8 December
the Safety Officer spoke about the importance of seasonal temperatures and encountering icing at altitude
the XO read a letter of appreciation from the Kitsap County Board of Commissioners IRT our participation in the Unforgotten Run To Tahoma
the XO read a letter of thanks from Mrs. Herbert Norris and accepted a donation from her for our fly-over and missing-man for her husband
Wolfgang "Wolf" Czaia, ex-German Air Force pilot, American Airlines captain, and ME 262 test pilot, briefed us on the ME 262 reconstruction project ongoing at Paine Field. It was a very detailed and informative hour-plus. He then donated a copy of his book for our door prize drawing.
Crash Williams mentioned that NWOC will be returning to Seattle in February and he encouraged all to register and attend.
Three door prizes were given away. John Clark won Wolf's book, and Mike Weisner and Ric Tatman each won a Model Power ME 262 replica.
Michael Kopp updated us on the B-25 second-in-command classes available at HFF.
Several schedule announcements were made; they will be later published.
The next meeting will be 10 November at the Museum of Flight
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 12:15 PM.
