The CO called the
meeting to order at 10:15 AM. There were 42 members and guests in
attendance. The following occurred:
Guests were welcomed,
new members introduced, and veterans recognized.
Ron briefed the
membership on the expected flying events for this season.
Ron also mentioned that
the Heritage Flight Museum was having their fund raiser on 14 May and
there will be three astronauts in attendance.
Fred reminded all the
2016 dues should now be paid. He also said Reno box seat tickets were
still available.
Dave said rooms were
still available in the rental house at Oshkosh. He also said we could use
a few more volunteers for our booth at the Aviation Expo this month.
Kent pitched us on the
EAA Young Eagles Program and mentioned how satisfying it was to
participate.
Marc Manzo, MoF
Development Team, briefed us on the status of the Aviation Pavilion and
the sponsor levels available.
Ray Carveth, president
of the AWO Fly-In board of directors, talked about CWB’s involvement last
year and AWO’s desire to have us attend again this year.
Our main
event, A Family of Aviators, had Fred talking about his father as
an Army Air Corps pilot, his mother’s time as a WASP, and his time as an
Army Warrant flying LOHs in Vietnam. He finished with a description of the
mission that earned him a DFC.
Ron closed by saying that the Board was going to
soon meet for a strategic planning session and he invited input from
anyone so interested.
There being no further
business, the meeting was adjourned at 12:30.
