Cascade Warbirds Squadron # 2

Minutes of the Annual Meeting of the Membership – 08 January 2011, Museum of Flight

The CO called the meeting to order at promptly 10:05 AM. There were 48 members and guests in attendance.

The following occurred:

• Guests were introduced and veterans were acknowledged.

• Greg presented the EAA Annual Service Awards to selected officers.

• Frank presented a Warbird Flyer writer’s award to Richard Kloppenburg

• Fred reminded all that there were still reserved box seats tickets available for the Reno Air Races in September.

• Ed’s Safety Minute cautioned us to be careful of the crosswind component of the aircraft we fly and to realize that the published information is a best-case scenario.

• Our guest speaker was author Peter Stekel who presented the back story on his recently-published Final Flight. He was invited to return with another presentation when he finishes his B-24 volume.

• Annual meeting interlude: (1) Fred reported the financial highlights of 2010; (2) Greg mentioned that the squadron had formed a committee to look into the possibility of acquiring an aircraft and invited any who were interested to attend the afternoon board meeting where the topic would be briefly discussed. HHe asked for a show of hands of folks who may be interested in flying such a craft; about a dozen folks responded affirmatively; (3) Greg briefly mentioned the summer flying schedule and said more detailed info would be available later.

• Greg then mentioned the HFM fly-day on 15 Jan and the upcoming aviation meetings in February.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 12:00 Noon.
